Enrollment information

• The Children’s Groups of the CAS are intended for parents and children of institute employees.
• Children are accepted into the children's group on the basis of an Application for Admission to the Children's Group and the decision of the head of the Children’s Groups of the CAS.
• Children are usually accepted into the children's group for the duration of the regular school year, i.e. from September to August of the following year. We mainly accept children in September and January.
• If there is free capacity, a child may be accepted into the children's group during the year, always taking into account the group and the child's needs.
• You can submit an application via the link on the right.
• Only children who have received the required routine vaccinations, or who are unable to be vaccinated and provide confirmation from a pediatrician, may be admitted to the children’s group. This confirmation must be submitted as part of the contract.

Step into DS

• In the last week of August, our branches will host the Step into DS
  

  August 25 – Prague 8, 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
  August 26 – Prague 1, 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
  August 27 – Prague 4, 9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

  This time is reserved exclusively for parents and their children – the branch will be closed for regular business during this time.
  
  The goal of this joint day is:

  • for parents to explore the space together, discover the toys, labels, and different areas,
  • to get to know the caregivers,
  • to take care of all administrative matters (sign the contract and review important documents).

New parents are asked to bring their child's birth certificate (for foreign children, a document issued by the Czech Republic for residence).

Existing parents will learn about news for the upcoming school year at the event, and their contracts will be extended at the same time.

Parents can come at any time during the specified hours, but it is recommended that they arrive well in advance so that everything can be completed by 3:30 p.m.

We ask that parents make full use of this reserved time – it is intended only for them and their children.

Admission criteria

Children are admitted according to the following criteria:

• Please note that the Prague 1 branch of the children's group is located in premises with stairs, so it is necessary for the child to be able to walk up and down stairs.
• In cases where the number of applications exceeds the capacity of the children's group, the principle of priority placement of children in the following order will be applied:

1. 1. application for placement of a child who has not been accepted into kindergarten, provided that the parent submits a decision on the child's non-acceptance into preschool education in kindergarten;
   2. application for placement of a child in a younger age category (i.e., from 18 months to August 31 after their third birthday), with older children having priority over younger children;
   3. application for placement of a child with multi-day attendance in a children's group.

• Children who are not admitted to the children’s group are placed on a waiting list. Each application is assigned a reference number. If a place becomes available in the children's group, it will be offered to the next child in line, provided that no application has been submitted in the meantime that must be given priority based on the criteria set out above.
• Applications for regular enrollment will be accepted electronically from May 15, 2026. The deadline for accepting applications is June 1, 2026. Electronic registration is done via the Twigsee.com application using the link on the right.
• Decisions on admission will be issued after June 23, 2026.
• Once you receive confirmation of your child’s admission, you will be asked to submit the following documents: completed registration form in Word format, a scan of the medical certificate, and a certificate of employment (confirmed by the payroll department of the parent working at the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic). All required documents will be sent to you by email.
• After admission decisions have been issued, enrolment will reopen for the submission of additional applications.
