Summer Camps 2026: A summer full of experiences, adventure and friendship
This year’s summer camp is now behind us, and we are delighted to look back on several weeks filled with games, laughter, physical activity, discovery and shared experiences.
Over the course of this summer, we organised a total of six sessions of day and residential camps in Prague and Brno, attended by 120 children. Each session had its own theme, atmosphere and adventures. The children followed in the footsteps of everyday heroes, discovered the secrets of Prague, journeyed through the elements, travelled around the world and, at the residential camp at Liblice Castle, transformed themselves into sailors and pirates. In Brno, the children attended the Star Academy of Movement and Science.
But it wasn’t just about the organised programme. What gave us the greatest joy was watching the children make new friends during each session, push themselves, try new things and, above all, really enjoy their summer.
And the fact that we managed to create a pleasant and safe environment in which the children felt at ease was repeatedly confirmed to us over the summer by their parents as well.
We received a number of lovely thank-you emails and personal messages of gratitude, which we greatly appreciate. Every such message is a great source of motivation for us and confirmation that our work is meaningful.
A big thank you also goes to everyone who helped prepare and run the camps. Behind every session lies a great deal of work, planning, organisation, ideas, energy and, above all, the day-to-day care of the children. We would like to thank the whole team for a job well done.
This year has once again shown us that there is great interest in the camps amongst the families of employees at the Czech Academy of Sciences, and that it makes sense to develop this programme further. We are therefore already thinking about what new activities we can offer the children next year.
So what happens next?
We are already looking forward to the summer of 2027. We will publish details of the upcoming camps, dates and individual programmes on this website in good time.
We will also inform staff at the various sites of the Czech Academy of Sciences about the range of camps on offer via the contact persons at their respective institutes, just as we did this year.
We would like to thank all the children for their enthusiasm, the parents for their trust, and the whole team for a wonderful summer camp.
We had a great time this summer of 2026. And we’re already looking forward to the next one! ☀️🌍🏕️
Day camps and residential camps are organised with financial support from the IOCB Tech Endowment Fund and the AGROFERT Endowment Fund.
